<p><strong>About Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) :<br />
</strong>The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), which is  declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, was set up under Department of Space, Goverment of India,  and offers undergraduates B Tech programme in Avionics, Aerospace Engineering  and Physical Sciences. IIST also offers post graduate and doctoral  programmes to meet the requirements of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). In addition to the regular curriculum, the courses will have special modules tailored to space technology and space science. IIST focuses on high-end research activities with the country&#8217;s space programmes and related innovative ventures.<span id="more-647"></span></p>
<p><strong>Eligibility :<br />
</strong>Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing in ISAT-2010:</p>
<p>1.Citizenship<br />
Candidates have to be Indian citizens to be eligible to write ISAT-2010.</p>
<p>2.Date of Birth<br />
The date of birth of candidates belonging to GEN, OBC categories should be on or after October 1, 1985, while the date of birth of those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be on or after October 1, 1980.<br />
The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/ Pre-University certificate/or its equivalent will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, candidate must submit at the time of counseling/admission an authenticated document indicating the date of birth.</p>
<p>3.Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)<br />
A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, in the calendar year 2009 or 2010, provided the results are available before 1 July 2010. Those who are going to appear in the QE or expecting the results of QE later than July 1, 2010 are not eligible to apply for ISAT-2010.</p>
<p>4.Minimum Percentage of Marks in Class X or equivalent examination.<br />
Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination, while, those belonging to SC,ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination.</p>
<p>5 .Minimum Percentage of Marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination<br />
Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in the aggregate in their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in their QE, while, those belonging to SC,ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in the aggregate in their PCM papers in their QE.</p>
<p>6. Reservation Seats<br />
As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are:<br />
Scheduled Castes (SC)<br />
Scheduled Tribes (ST)<br />
Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)<br />
Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.</p>
<p>Benefit of reservation shall be given only to those castes/ tribes which are recognized by the Government of India and are included in the respective central list published by the Department of Personnel and Training.<br />

</strong>Candidates can apply on-line only. The online application form will be available from 10:00 AM on 21st December 2009 to 11:30 PM on 31st January 2010 in the IIST website www.iist.ac.in/IIST/ISAT2010 and the alternate link www.isac.gov.in/iist/.</p>

</strong>Student desirous of taking entrance test ISAT-2010 shall have to pay application fee as under:<br />
Male GEN/OBC candidates    : Rs.500<br />
SC/ST/PD and for all female candidates    : Rs.250</p>

</strong>The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus, Goa campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2010-11 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani. This test will be referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test – 2010’, in short as BITSAT-2010 hereafter in this document<span id="more-577"></span></p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:<br />
</strong>For admission to any of the above Integrated First Degree programmes Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Further the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and should have adequate proficiency in English.</p>
<p>Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2010 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2009 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2010 test. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2008 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010</p>

<p><strong>Instructions for Payment:<br />
</strong>(1) The above are for a normal situation. Wherever a student&#8217;s programme gets modified or his progress is delayed beyond the maximum permissible, such a student is advised to consult the appropriate authority before registration.<br />
(2) All students admitted earlier than July, 2009 will continue to be governed by the same schedule of fees as before. However it should be clear that they will have to pay along with the new students the same amount of fees for students&#8217; union fee, students&#8217; aid fund and mess &amp; electricity advance.<br />
(3) The fees and other charges are payable in advance in each semester/term on the notified dates before registration. No withdrawal from a course or courses will entitle a student for refund of fees.<br />
(4) Students who go for Practice School II will be charged semester fees and the summer term fees because the practice school is longer than a semester and extends it to summer.<br />
(5) Casual students will pay fees prescribed for regular students.<br />
(6) Institute caution deposits are refundable only at the time of withdrawal from the Institute.<br />
(7) If there are dues outstanding from a student, his grades will be withheld.<br />
(8) Students who accumulate mess arrears would be required to pay a prescribed additional advance at the time of next registration.<br />
(9) Refunds, if any, will be made through crossed cheques/Bank drafts.</p>
