</strong>Each year the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg awards 3 to 6 Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships and 6 to 12 Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships. The Institute enables the fellows to concentrate on a major academic project, free of extensive teaching duties. The Institute also offers the opportunity to discuss their discipline with colleagues and students at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald. <span id="more-1479"></span></p>
<p>Academics who have proven themselves by outstanding research and teaching are appointed as Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows. Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships are awarded to particularly qualified young academics with doctorates.</p>
<p>A joint application by several people who wish to realize a project in Greifswald in interdisciplinary and international cooperation is possible.  Alfried Krupp Fellowships are awarded either for a semester (1st October to 31st March or 1st April to 30th September) or for a whole academic year. They may be awarded to academics from Germany or from abroad.</p>
<p>Alfried Krupp Senior Fellowships and Alfried Krupp Junior Fellowships are advertised publicly. Proposals and applications should be submitted to the academic director by the deadline stated in the respective advertisement.</p>
<p>Applicants and persons who wish to propose a researcher to the academic director of the Institute are requested to observer the guidelines for applicants and on submitting proposals, which can also be downloaded as a <strong>PDF file : </strong>http://www.wiko-greifswald.de/fileadmin/dateien/pdf/Fellows_Programme_Guidelines_2008.pdf</p>
<p>Where possible, Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows should arrange to be substituted at their respective home institution by a junior academic. The substitution costs will be borne by the Institute. Furthermore, Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows are provided with an apartment and an office, free of charge, in the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg. Individual offers may be made by the Institute to Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows who cannot be granted paid leave by their home institutions.</p>
<p>Alfried Krupp Junior Fellows are paid a monthly research grant of 2,700 EUR. As a rule this grant is tax-free in Germany. Additionally, Alfried Krupp Junior Fellows are provided with an apartment and an office, free of charge, in the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg.</p>
<p>Travelling and laboratory costs are not covered by the Institute.</p>
<p>During their stay Alfried Krupp Fellows are expected to complete, or at least to make decisive progress in, a significant research project.</p>
<p>Fellows are expected to live in the Institute.</p>
<p>The Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg would welcome it if Alfried Krupp Senior Fellows were to hold a class for the students of Greifswald University during their stay.</p>
<p>Proposals and applications should be submitted until 1st March 2010 to the academic director, Professor Dr. Bärbel Friedrich, Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald, D-17487 Greifswald.</p>

<strong>Fine Arts / Coda Fellowships</strong><br />
If you’re an aspiring artist, musician, or actor—or are interested in arts leadership—you may qualify for one of two Rhodes fellowships focusing on the arts. The CODA Fellowship is part of Rhodes’ Center for Outreach in the Development of the Arts (CODA).</p>
<ul>
<li>CODA Fellows—four per entering class—receive $13,000 each year.</li>
<li>Fellows participate in CODA at least 10 hours/week, developing their understanding of issues in arts leadership through association with faculty and community-based mentors.</li>
<li>CODA Fellows complete internships at local arts organizations.</li>
<li>You are not required to major in an arts field.</li>
<li>An interview is required to qualify for the CODA Fellows Program.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The Fine Arts Fellowship is available to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in art, music or theatre.</li>
<li>Up to eight fellowships in the amount of $13,000 per year are available annually.</li>
<li>Students interested in music and theatre are required to audition, while art students must submit a portfolio of slides.</li>
<li>You are allowed to audition in more than one department as long as the guidelines for each department are followed. Fine Arts Fellows are required to major or minor in a fine arts discipline while at Rhodes.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Note</strong> : Fine Arts Open House will take place on November 6, 2009. Auditions and interviews for the Fine Arts Fellowships will be on February 27, 2010.</p>
